Her education includes an Associate of Science in Applied Science and Technology, a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Chico, and an MBA from California State University, Sacramento, complemented by a minor in Production and Operations Management.
With experience developing inventions, proprietary manufacturing technologies, and patent development projects, Madeline combines technical knowledge with hands-on experimentation and practical testing. Kimberly Vohs is a founding partner of Cartesian Machine LLC, bringing decades of hands-on manufacturing experience, business leadership, and technical expertise. An entrepreneur and mentor, she has founded businesses across four states and managed manufacturing companies and professional off-road racing teams. Her background includes studies in advanced manufacturing, engineering sciences, and business management, along with numerous technical certifications.
At Cartesian Machine, Kimberly leads the CNC machining division and oversees manufacturing operations, equipment, workflow, and production standards. Her deep knowledge of machining and fabrication, paired with her commitment to precision and craftsmanship, helps the team deliver consistent, high-quality work. Through steady leadership and mentorship, she builds a culture of accountability, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

Kristine King-Smith serves as Chief Financial Officer of Cartesian Machine LLC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). During her academic career, she maintained strong academic achievement and participated in the Chico State Sales Team, strengthening her skills in communication, leadership, and business strategy.
Kristine brings extensive experience in financial management, business operations, sales, and customer relations. At Cartesian Machine, she oversees accounting, payroll, human resources, purchasing, marketing, and administrative operations. Her combination of education and practical experience supports the company’s financial stability, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.

Grant Patterson-Engineer
Grant Patterson is an engineer at Cartesian Machine LLC and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University, Chico. Manuel Cecenas- Production Manager
Manuel Cecenas serves as Production Manager at Cartesian Machine LLC, bringing more than a decade of manufacturing experience in welding, production supervision, and operations management. His technical background includes MIG and TIG welding, robotic welding systems, press brakes, and laser equipment. He holds certificates in Automotive Technology and Welding Technology from American River College, along with OSHA 30-Hour certification and management development training. Michael Walker, PE, serves as a technical advisor to Cartesian Machine LLC, leading the development of ERP and MRP systems and advising on automation, process improvement, and technology integration. A licensed Professional Engineer, he brings extensive experience in engineering, manufacturing, and organizational leadership, including engineering director and vice president roles at established Butte County manufacturers. His background also includes hydropower design and fire suppression systems with the California Department of Water Resources.
Michael combines strong engineering judgment with a talent for making complex processes more efficient and reliable. He develops software tools and automated workflows that reduce errors, improve consistency, and preserve valuable operational knowledge. His ability to anticipate challenges and develop practical solutions helps strengthen the systems and infrastructure supporting Cartesian Machine’s continued growth.
